Legal
Privacy Policy
Saint-Tropez Confidential is a private villa curation and advisory service. Discretion is central to how we work, and that extends to how we handle your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices available to you.
Who we are
Saint-Tropez Confidential operates from Saint-Tropez, France, and acts as the data controller for the information described in this policy. For any question about your data, write to michel@saint-tropezconfidential.com.
What we collect
Information you give us: name, email address, telephone number, dates and party size, the property or service you are interested in, and any message you choose to send through our inquiry form or by email, telephone or WhatsApp.
Technical information: pages viewed, referring source, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type. Analytics data is only collected once you have accepted analytics cookies.
Why we use it
To respond to your inquiry and present suitable properties.
To coordinate a rental, acquisition or concierge arrangement you have asked us to organise.
To keep records of our correspondence and comply with legal or accounting obligations.
To understand, in aggregate, how our site is used so we can improve it.
Legal basis
We process inquiry data on the basis of your consent and of our legitimate interest in responding to a request you initiated. Where we are engaged for a rental or acquisition, processing is necessary for the performance of that arrangement. Analytics processing relies on your consent, given through our cookie banner.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We disclose only what is necessary, and only to: villa owners or their representatives when you ask us to enquire about a specific property; service providers we engage on your instruction (private aviation, transfers, staffing, security); and our technical providers for website hosting, form handling, email and analytics, who act on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Inquiry correspondence is retained for up to three years from our last contact, unless a booking or acquisition creates a longer legal or accounting retention requirement. You may ask us to erase your data sooner.
Cookies and analytics
Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working. Analytics and marketing cookies are loaded only after you accept them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer.
Your rights
You may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing. You may also withdraw consent at any time. Write to us and we will respond within one month. If you are in the European Union you may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority; in France this is the CNIL.
Security and international transfers
Access to inquiry data is limited to the advisors who need it. Some of our technical providers process data outside the European Economic Area; where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers make available, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Changes
If we update this policy we will revise the date shown below. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
